As the name suggests, the Vivo X300 FE has been officially launched in the Indian market to replace the X200 FE as part of the same concept of providing an advanced device that is compact in size. This new device has joined the line-up of X300 devices and becomes the third device to join the line after the launch of the standard X300. The new device comes close in terms of design to its bigger counterpart but opts for a sub-flagship chipset compared to the flagship chipsets of the latter. However, other elements of the phone make up for its shortcomings, including a larger capacity battery with both types of charging options.

While the Vivo X300 FE makes an effort to differentiate itself through its unique camera visor design closer to the upper end of the screen, there is also an uncanny resemblance to the camera visor designs seen in the latest Google Pixel phones and iPhones like the iPhone Air. However, I find the camera visor in the form of a pill shape much cleaner, although not as stable when resting on the table due to the wide camera platform at the rear.

What is more, the device has a high-quality aluminum frame together with a glass back cover that provides good ergonomics. Also, the phone can boast of IP68 and IP69 water-resistant certification. Regarding the size of the device, it still retains almost the same as the two previously mentioned smartphones. Its dimensions are 150.8 mm in height and 71.8 mm in width, while the thickness is 8.2 mm. Speaking of weight, the new model is also very comparable to previous smartphones; it weights 190.2 g.
As for the hardware of the Vivo X300 FE, it is quite similar to that one of its predecessor, but yet some differences exist. First of all, the difference lies in the level of performance of the phone, as it is somewhat lower than that one of the regular X300. However, the phone is more powerful than the X200 FE. Specifically, it has Qualcomm’s sub-flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC. It should be noted that such SoC is already present in some other phones like OnePlus 15R and iQOO 15R smartphones, which makes the device quite powerful.

The screen specifications of the Vivo X300 FE stay the same, with a 6.31-inch LTPO AMOLED screen having a high-resolution 1.5K display, ultra-narrow bezels, a variable 1Hz to 120Hz refresh rate, and HDR10+ compatibility, providing an enriched visual experience.
Moreover, it also accommodates the fingerprint sensor embedded under the screen, and there has been significant improvement in that regard. In contrast to the previous model, the Vivo X300 FE comes equipped with an ultrasonic sensor, increasing efficiency and accuracy and aligning perfectly with the placement of your thumb.

For the optical section, the Vivo X300 FE boasts of a Zeiss-powered triple-lens array system composed of an unchanged 50MP main shooter with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide angle shooter, and a 50MP Sony IMX882 3x periscope telephoto shooter. Newer ISP technology on the chipsets could improve the performance of the latest FE camera system. Furthermore, the company has unveiled a new Zeiss Telephoto Extender Gen 2 that will extend the reach up to 200mm, similar to the one offered by the X300 series Gen 1 telephoto extender. Vivo has also managed to make the Gen 2 model lighter than its predecessor. For the front section, there is a 50MP Zeiss camera system for selfies and video chats.
There is a 6,500mAh battery, silicon-carbon type, charged at 90W wired FlashCharge and 40W wireless FlashCharge speeds. OriginOS 6 is powering the smartphone with Android 16 pre-installed. Four significant OS upgrades with six years of security patches have been promised by Vivo for the smartphone, which will keep it relevant until 2032.
Vivo X300 FE will suit individuals seeking high-end photography, but in a smaller form factor. The phone is geared towards creators that require access to the telephoto extender kit without investing
