Vivo claims that the chipset offers more than 4.2 million AnTuTu score. However, we will run our tests using AnTuTu software to see if it performs this well. The Snapdragon Elite Gen 5 is combined with 16GB of LPDDR5X Ultra Pro RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.1 memory. For any photography enthusiast, Vivo has added a dedicated Pro Imaging Chip VS1+. This is a 6nm processor that can achieve speeds up to 80 trillion operations per second and works with the SoC.

Software and Connectivity

The X300 Ultra uses OriginOS 6 running on Android 16. It gets five software updates and seven years of security patches which is good but Google, Samsung, and Apple provide seven years of software updates for their flagship smartphones. Features on OriginOS 6 include Origin Island which is Vivo’s version of the Dynamic Island notification feature as well as an AI suite with AI Creation, AI Transcript Assist, Vivo DocMaster, and AI Captions.

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, USB 3.2 with 10 Gbps data transfer, NFC, eSIM, and NavIC positioning. The phone offers dust and water protection with IP68 and IP69 ratings.

Who Should Buy the Vivo X300 Ultra?

If capturing high-quality photos is the top motivation behind buying the latest flagship smartphone, the X300 Ultra offers one of the best choices. It is clear that Vivo plans to become the absolute leader among manufacturers concerning smartphone cameras. Three professional quality lenses with Zeiss large sensors and different prime focal lengths have no direct competitors in terms of hardware. Additional elements which confirm that the X300 Ultra can be used not only as phone but also creative device include the VS1+ dedicated imaging chip and 4K multi-focal video up to 120 frames per second, and the Imaging Grip Kit together with telescopic lens accessories.

Besides the cameras, the rest of the hardware on board is as premium as it comes. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, 100W wired and 40W wireless fast charging support, IPX8/IPX9 waterproofing, and a seven-year-long security software update policy suggest that the device will serve its owner for a good few years.

That being said, the Vivo X300 Ultra isn’t an affordable smartphone, while adding the camera kit makes it even pricier. Those who don’t have any interest in pushing their photography abilities to the limit should consider opting for the Vivo X300 or X300 Pro instead. The Vivo X300 FE can be seen as an alternative too.
