The release of the Redmi Turbo 5 in India is imminent according to Xiaomi, with this being the introduction of the Redmi Turbo range to the Indian market. The information was released via social media by Sandeep Sarma, who serves as the Associate Director of Marketing and PR for Xiaomi India.
Apart from the confirmation of the release date for the device in question, Xiaomi has also updated its microsite on Amazon, which provides further details regarding the Redmi Turbo 5. Not only does it state when the phone will be available on Amazon, but it also provides information on the design.

The Redmi Turbo series till date has been limited to China only, with both Redmi Turbo 5 and its max variant being unveiled there back in January this year. With the confirmation of Redmi Turbo 5 for India, it seems that Xiaomi is finally taking the series global.
From the teaser pictures, it can be seen that the Indian version of the Redmi Turbo 5 is no different from its Chinese cousin in terms of design. It sports a flat back design that comes with a vertically aligned dual camera setup on the top-left part of the back. Next to the cameras, there is the LED flash unit, whereas Redmi branding is placed on the bottom-left section of the back.
Black is certainly one color that will be offered in India, at least based on the teaser pictures. On the sides of the frame, one can see the power button and volume rockers placed on the right side, with the other side being empty.
Even though Xiaomi has not released the complete specifications of the Indian variant officially, it is expected that the mobile will mostly feature similar hardware to that seen on its Chinese counterpart.
The Redmi Turbo 5 in China comes with a 6.59-inch AMOLED screen with a pixel resolution of 1268×2756. The display features up to a 120Hz refresh rate, touch sampling rate of up to 480Hz, Dolby Vision support, HDR10+ support, and maximum brightness of 3,500 nits.
The Redmi Turbo 5 runs on a Dimensity 8500 Ultra chip manufactured using 4nm technology. It is also expected that this processor will help position this device in the upper mid-range or low-end flagship category.
Another important feature of the Chinese model of the Redmi Turbo 5 includes the huge capacity battery. This mobile device supports up to 100W wired fast charging and 27W wired reverse charging.

No pricing information is available for India as yet. Nonetheless, the Redmi Turbo 5 was introduced in China at a price of CNY 2,299, which works out to be approximately Rs. 30,000.
If Xiaomi follows the same strategy for its product in India, it could pose competition to premium mid-range devices from brands such as Realme, iQOO, OnePlus, and Motorola.
From what can be gathered from the Redmi Turbo 5, it seems like it tries to incorporate a big battery, quick charging, and an AMOLED display that refreshes at a very high rate into a rather slim phone. While Xiaomi is yet to announce its release date, one would think that it will not take long.
