OPPO Find N6 Feels Like a Normal Phone That Happens to Fold

Just for your information, remember the days when touchscreen foldables were just concept cars? People used to appreciate the engineering work, showing off the foldable phone among friends made people feel cool and they appreciated the sheer engineering efforts in it. However, using the foldable phones always was like. The crease problem, battery problems and many other factors made the foldable seem like a device yet to evolve into one.

Fast forward to years later, where I was offered the Oppo Find N6 and found out that finally, foldable phones are complete devices now, yet the Oppo Find N6 seems to be more complete. Not that it is anything revolutionary, but because it has taken care of what the foldable phones used to lack, in my opinion.

However, there is something critical that needs to be mentioned right from here. As I had gotten the Chinese variant of the Oppo Find N6 to be tested on, we were not able to download some applications. Consequently, the test phase for the Oppo Find N6 could not be as detailed and exhaustive as in case of a global/Indian variant.

What I noticed first wasn’t anything about features or even a cool spec. It was the lack of friction.

Folding this smartphone felt pretty close to holding a normal flagship phone. In contrast, most books in 2026 are quite chunky and feel oddly heavy, making them uncomfortable to use.

With its thinner build, well-balanced design, and high-quality hinge, this phone is more pleasant to use. When you take it out of your pocket, you aren’t going to be calling attention to yourself as using an experimental piece of technology. This is what makes using the Oppo Find N6 quite nice.

I guess this could be one of the best things that you can say about a foldable smartphone in 2026.

Among the main factors contributing to that is the design itself. The book foldable measures up at 8.9 mm folded (equivalent to the recently released iPhone 17 Pro Max), while the unfolded version comes up at 4.2 mm (just like the Galaxy Z Fold 7), putting it on par with some of the thinnest foldable devices currently available. The device also features the Titanium Flexion Hinge, which contributes to both its slimness and reduces crease visibility to a certain extent.

That being said, the crease is indeed there, although it cannot be noticed at all because of how well it is hidden by the manufacturer. After almost two weeks of use and folding the phone many times daily, I was able to barely notice a crease in the screen. In the future, it might grow more noticeable, although for now, it is a triumph in the realm of foldable smartphones.

The hinge also appears to be solid enough for day-to-day usage. It has some firmness when opening up the gadget, making it seem reliable without being hard to open up. If you have previously owned an old-fashioned folder phone, then you understand precisely what I mean.

Even though dust and water resistance may not be the best. However, it is rated IP56, IP58, and IP59, which does the job and is not on par with industry standards.

And finally, the screen experience is genuinely why people would want to purchase a folding smartphone in the first place. The OPPO Find N6 has a 6.62-inch LTPO OLED cover screen and a massive 8.12-inch LTPO OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate.

However, I consumed many contents on this gadget, even multitasking, and the process was fairly smooth. Similar to other gadgets, the inner screen was much better when consuming content. Despite its nearly square aspect ratio, there are black bars when watching videos, a common characteristic among book-like foldables, although the bigger screen made watching content more immersive than the normal flagship devices.

When talking about the brightness of this phone, as expected from a flagship, the indoor brightness was amazing; however, even outdoors, the main display was vivid enough. The colours were rich and bright without being oversaturated, and the screen felt luxurious. However, despite the acceptable visibility outdoors in the inner screen during day time, it could be much better under harsh sunlight.

Another aspect in which foldables could not compete with flagship phones was their cameras, but in recent years, brands like Samsung and Google Pixel have also dispelled that notion. Another brand to jump on the bandwagon is Oppo with its Find N6.

The smartphone comes with a 200-megapixel primary sensor, a 50-megapixel telephoto camera that supports 3x optical zoom, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens calibrated by Hasselblad, just like all other Oppo flagships.

During my testing, I found that the primary camera produced accurate images in the daytime with decent colors, dynamic range, and highlight control. The portraits shot by the telephoto lens were equally impressive during the daytime and are also the best camera in the system.

The Oppo Find N6 is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, combined with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage space.

As I already told you, we had access to a Chinese model, therefore, the test run wasn’t extensive. Still, in the course of my daily tests, the phone did all the work flawlessly and didn’t encounter any hitches, whether it was multitasking or switching apps.

Another notable feature that I would like to mention is the 6000mAh battery, which is surprisingly powerful for such a thin device. As you can remember from my first paragraph, I was unable to test its potential to the fullest extent, but still managed to keep the phone running for nearly two days with one charge.

Surely, after using the internal display throughout the day for a marathon binge-watch session, you will need to recharge it eventually at night. As far as charging is concerned, the speed is quite reasonable, with up to 80 watts of fast charging, and even better, the phone gets charged wirelessly at up to 50 watts.

In my opinion, after testing the Oppo Find N6, one thing that impressed me was its overall balance. The sleeker form factor, sophisticated hinge, huge displays, solid cameras, and enhanced battery life all combine to make the phone more usable than most other foldable phones I’ve tested.

Nonetheless, there are still some mysteries surrounding the device. For starters, since it was the Chinese version of the phone, its performance and user experience cannot be gauged entirely, especially considering the Indian context. Furthermore, long-term durability can only be determined through time.
