Little Kitty, Big City Turns Two with a Delightful Birthday Update

Little Kitty, Big City is marking two years since its release in the most delightful manner possible. Double Dagger Studio has released a free Birthday Update, which brings exciting new additions to the game as well as quality of life improvements and crossover items for new and old fans alike. The Birthday Update is out right now on all available platforms, including Xbox Game Pass, making Little Kitty, Big City even more interesting than ever before.

First released in May of 2024, Little Kitty, Big City has become a popular indie title with its relaxed gameplay mechanics and lovable kitty cat shenanigans. Playing as a tiny black cat who falls out of the window, you’ll have to make your way back home through an exciting and crowded urban environment. Along the way, there will be lots of opportunities to take naps under the sun, chase birds around, knock things over, collect shiny baubles, and help other animals on their errands.

One of the key features of the latest Birthday Update is the new larger apartment area. Previously, the player had access only to the limited apartment area that included Kitty’s windowsill where the adventure started and ended. With the update, the whole apartment can be explored by the player. New interactive items and a new pet have appeared here. It is Turt, Kitty’s turtle room mate, who likes watching TV very much.

In order to add to the celebratory mood, the apartment has been additionally equipped with decorations such as balloons, birthday cake, and gifts. Moreover, players have new sticker sets that can be used for taking photos in the newly introduced Photo Mode and creating birthday pictures. Among the gifts, one will find a unique new hat which can be added to Kitty’s inventory.

A particularly fascinating aspect of the update is that it has some crossover content. Players who enjoyed the amazing digital circus can unlock the Jax hat and Jax cat skins by typing the code “VEGAN.” Pomni also makes an appearance as a toy that Kitty can play with. The update also features Bing Bong from the multiplayer game called PEAK and a hat resembling a little gecko from the Gecko Gods game.

Another significant improvement that comes with the Birthday Update is that the ducklings behave much better now. They actually respond to the emotions of their owner and can join her for a nap, resulting in adorable scenes. Moreover, the developers added animated duckling icons to the loading screen, providing their owners with yet another way of customizing them. Finally, several technical problems were solved, including the notorious issue with going back to the construction yard.

This free update is an indication of the attention Double Dagger Studio still pays to Little Kitty, Big City. It has been two years since the launch of the game, but Little Kitty, Big City remains fun and relaxing for people of all ages. Be it the return of familiar faces from the past apartment or discovering this cat-themed game on Xbox Game Pass, there’s no shortage of incentives to dive back into this exciting game.
