RedMagic Launches New Gaming Phone Series with an Overclocked Flagship Chip

RedMagic 11S Pro series has been launched in China, and it has just one main improvement over the RedMagic’s standard line-up of smartphones. This year’s gaming smartphone range from RedMagic is driven by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Leading Version chipset, which is nothing else than the latest Qualcomm flagship SoC overclocked. Its cost is CNY 5,499, or roughly $807.

It’s official, RedMagic has launched its new lineup of gaming phones in China under the 11S Pro series moniker. The main difference between the non-S lineup and the new one is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Leading Version. This SoC is nothing but an overclocked version of the current best SoC by Qualcomm.

The clock speed of the overclocked Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is similar to that of the “for Galaxy” version of the SoC powering the Samsung Galaxy S26 series. Specifically, the Prime cores have a 4.74GHz frequency instead of 4.6GHz. However, unlike the latest flagship devices from Samsung, the SoC in the RedMagic 11S Pro series is cooled by an active cooler.

The active cooling of the gaming phones series comes in the form of the “Wind Chaser 4.0” fan with 24,000RPM capacity and IPX8 water resistance. With the help of liquid metal thermal grease, large vapor cooling chamber, and redesigned air duct, RedMagic claims to provide superior performance across all conditions. But it is still unknown whether the company managed to fix the power profile problem of the non-S lineup.

Apart from that, the rest of the specifications of the RedMagic 11S Pro series remain almost identical to that of the regular line-up. The RedMagic 11S Pro features an 8000mAh battery, while the 11S Pro+ comes with a 7500mAh battery. 120W fast charging technology is included (160W Anker Prime charger $105.99 on Amazon), and there is also a flat 6.85-inch AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate in both models.

As for the pricing, the RedMagic 11S Pro will start off at CNY 5,499 (around $807), whereas the 11S Pro+ with “water cooling” will retail starting at CNY 6,199 ($910). While the former model can be purchased with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, the latter has a model with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage capacity. More information regarding the global release of the series will follow shortly.
